2008 Is here and I am building another Geo Tracker for the Mod-stock class for RROCK. I'm trying to stick with just purchased parts with little fabrication work. This way it will help promote more people into our sport. If a person wants to build a similar Vehicle they can purchase the same parts from the companies we are using and have a competition truck without having to build the parts themselves which is what I've done in years past.
This year we where lucky enough to have Cooper Tires and Trail Tough sponsor us with free tires and discounted prices on parts. This is a big deal for us. We are now being noticed and hope to add a few more sponsors later in the year.
Fathers day weekend in Hannibal. Who could ask for more? Got the truck 95% finished and rolled into Hannibal about midnight Saturday morning. Woke up, drove the truck off the trailer, and really was not satisfied with the Tracker.
Drove around the parking lot worked out some bugs and got ready for the comp.
Drew #1 spot as always.
Started C1 with Mike Jones out front and made it 3/4 thru with no backs or gates. Disconnect went and disconnected from the T-case
37 pts c1 killed us for the day
Ran C2,C3 and C4 with little problems scoring 37...13...20....-12 = 57
7th place finish with a brand new AUTOMATIC truck, brand new spotter, drawing #1 and 9 months without driving = not bad at all
I ran C1 Sunday night again with a 16 yr old driving and walked it.
-3 instead of a 37 would have been great 57-40 = 17 good enough for second
But that's the name of the game and none of it mattered anyway cause I HAD A FRICKEN BLAST
SHEROCK on Sunday was really really fun. Heidi did snap the front upper control arm in two
She had a blast and did great taking 4th place. A5 she had the only perfect score with a -24
Can't wait till July to get here Have some plans on having brakes for the next one and some better steering.[
Had a blast as always. One more for the season. Wow the season went to fast. Missing number one really blows. Happy with third for the season but could have done better
The whole automatic trans change is haunting me. For my whole four wheeling life I've said manuals are the only way to go. I was right.
I'm gonna stick to the auto for the year but will probably change it out for next year. C1 went well with 1 back.
Did some damage somwhere in the front on C2 when climbing out the standard line. It was all driver error. I didnt realize I still had the front line lock on.
Thats when the trans really started leaking and I thought it just got really hot so I just let it cool down.......no more leakes on to C3. Entered C3 then realized the trans wasnt leaking because it was empty........Stupid mistake.....Got fluid in and started C3 with 4 min 40 second left on the clock.
Drove like a idiot and took out a gate but finished the course with a 0 and 1 min 30 left.....should of slowed down but being first (as always) I just wanted to finish.
C4 went well and I was nice and calm again even with seconds to go while still on the bonus drop.
C5 F....that dont want to even think about that one.
And again THANKS FOR PULLING #1
New Spotter for 2008 Mike Jones I owe Mike big time for stepping up this year. I hope to pay him back by making it to the All Stock Nationals........
